Pittie Bitten By Snake Fighting For Her Life!

We were busy running a Steri Clinic in the De Doorns township when the call came in:

“What can we give a dog bitten by a snake? One dog is dead already”…

Thank God we were already in the area and that a neighbour had filmed the snake (allowing the vet to prep the correct antivenom for quick treatment on her arrival).

Sadly the dog featured in the neighbours footage, the tan and white Pittie barking at the Puff adder, was bitten and had already died pre our arrival.

Lexi was also bitten, but she’s a strong girl and is fighting hard, even giving the vet grateful tail wags through the pain.

Lexi’s hospitalisation, antivenom and sterilisation (a condition of receiving any vet care from us) will cost a minimum of R10,000 ($579/€497/£435/AUD884)

BequestS - Remember us in Your Will

One of the most effective ways in which you can ensure that Sidewalk Specials NPC’s work continues is by way of a bequest in your will.

 

What Can You Bequeath?

You can leave any realisable assets to Sidewalk Specials NPC, including:

  • Property and land
  • Money or stocks and shares
  • Personal possessions
 
Adding a Bequest to Your Will
 
If you wish to donate to Sidewalk Specials NPC by way of a bequest, please make specific mention of us in your will.

For example:

“I bequeath to Sidewalk Specials NPC (2017/316326/08) the sum of [insert amount or percentage of overall estate value]. “ 

If you have already drawn up your will, a bequest to Sidewalk Specials NPC can be contained in an addition to your will, known as a Codicil, which can be added at any time.

A codicil must be signed and witnessed in the same way as the will itself (although the witnesses do not need to be the same). It must be kept with the will, but not affixed to it.

For example:

“I, the undersigned, declare the following to be a codicil to my will. I bequeath to Sidewalk Specials NPC (2017/316326/08) the sum of [insert amount or percentage of overall estate value] “

I/We agree to indemnify and hold harmless Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC and any of its directors, employees, volunteers, and veterinary experts/medical personnel under direct instruction from any and all claims, damages, losses, including death, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or in connection with the application of any protocols as provided by Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, and/or while at the premises of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, or at any location in application of these protocols.

  2. I/We acknowledge that application of any of the protocols involves certain risks and hazards, including but not limited to the risk of personal injury and property damage. I/We agree to assume full responsibility for any such risks and hazards, and to release and waive any claims against Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC and any of its directors, employees, volunteers, and veterinary experts/medical personnel under direct instruction arising out of or in connection with application of the protocols or while at the premises of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, or at any location in application of the same animal protocols.

  3. I/We acknowledge that this indemnity is intended to be interpreted as broadly as allowed by law, and that it shall survive the termination or expiration of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, and that the indemnity referred to herein shall inure to the successors and assigns of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, and its directors, employees, volunteers, and veterinary experts/medical personnel under direct instruction.
