Whilst everyone winds down for Christmas, Sidewalk Specials are gathering the last of our energy (and sanity) to ensure De Doorns’ township animals have a lifeline to veterinary care this December…❤️‍🩹 

Huge thanks to The Hard Family Foundation, The Flemming Family Foundation, The Stretch Foundation, Do It For the dogs, Pet Heaven, The Sports Concept Store, Nexgard, Hill’s Pet Nutrition and our wonderful supporters for making 2025 possible! 🙏🏻 

Sidewalk Specials are currently fundraising to purchase a much needed X-ray machine for our clinic, allowing us to treat fractures, breaks and traumas alongside diagnosing conditions such as pneumonia, hip dysplasia, and internal blockages.

X-ray machines aren’t cheap, with a welfare discount we’re looking at R481,592 ($28,752/ AUD$43,522/€24,543/£21,485) but it would be a transformative addition to our clinic!

With an in-house X-ray machine, we anticipate the following outcomes within the first year:

– A 50–70% reduction in funds spent on external veterinary diagnostics.

– A significant increase in successful fracture and trauma treatments, preventing unnecessary euthanasia. – Improved efficiency and turnaround time for diagnosing conditions such as pneumonia, hip dysplasia, and internal injuries.

– The ability to sterilise 200–300 additional animals annually with the funds saved from external costs, preventing thousands of unwanted puppies and kittens being born into poverty and neglect.

BequestS - Remember us in Your Will

One of the most effective ways in which you can ensure that Sidewalk Specials NPC’s work continues is by way of a bequest in your will.

 

What Can You Bequeath?

You can leave any realisable assets to Sidewalk Specials NPC, including:

  • Property and land
  • Money or stocks and shares
  • Personal possessions
 
Adding a Bequest to Your Will
 
If you wish to donate to Sidewalk Specials NPC by way of a bequest, please make specific mention of us in your will.

For example:

“I bequeath to Sidewalk Specials NPC (2017/316326/08) the sum of [insert amount or percentage of overall estate value]. “ 

If you have already drawn up your will, a bequest to Sidewalk Specials NPC can be contained in an addition to your will, known as a Codicil, which can be added at any time.

A codicil must be signed and witnessed in the same way as the will itself (although the witnesses do not need to be the same). It must be kept with the will, but not affixed to it.

For example:

“I, the undersigned, declare the following to be a codicil to my will. I bequeath to Sidewalk Specials NPC (2017/316326/08) the sum of [insert amount or percentage of overall estate value] “

  2. I/We acknowledge that application of any of the protocols involves certain risks and hazards, including but not limited to the risk of personal injury and property damage. I/We agree to assume full responsibility for any such risks and hazards, and to release and waive any claims against Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC and any of its directors, employees, volunteers, and veterinary experts/medical personnel under direct instruction arising out of or in connection with application of the protocols or while at the premises of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, or at any location in application of the same animal protocols.

  3. I/We acknowledge that this indemnity is intended to be interpreted as broadly as allowed by law, and that it shall survive the termination or expiration of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, and that the indemnity referred to herein shall inure to the successors and assigns of Sidewalk Specials NPC/CIC, and its directors, employees, volunteers, and veterinary experts/medical personnel under direct instruction.
