Townships are full of dogs, hundreds of thousands of them – should they be? Moot point, they already are.
There aren’t hundreds of thousands of non-township homes waiting to take them in.
There aren’t strict enough by-laws, nor anyone to enforce the by-laws even if there were, to think the status quo is going to change anytime soon.
The kindest solution – bring vet care to townships and mass sterilise, meaning less dogs and the ones there are are healthy and happy. Township families learn about responsible pet care, and dogs aren’t removed into an already overcrowded welfare system which sees millions of unwanted dogs put to sleep each year.
