In January 2026, Sidewalk Specials started running Emergency Clinics alongside our Sterilisation Clinics 🆘
The amount of injured, sick and dying animals we were dealing with had made using private vet practices financially unsustainable 🚫
Instead Sidewalk Specials purchased medicines at cost, collected our hero vets at the crack of dawn and created an accessible, weekly veterinary clinic in the De Doorns township 👊🏻
Since January 2026, Sidewalk Specials clinic has completed 592 sterilisations and treated 404 emergency cases, including:
– 111 TVT chemotherapy treatments 💉
– 86 surgeries: stab wounds, dog fights, motor vehicle accidents, removal of cancerous tumours, injuries caused by chains and botched tail removals ❤️🩹
– 89 treatments for chronic tick bite fever, burns, eye and ear infections.
– 14 parvo virus cases ❤️
– 69 euthanasias for dogs too old/sick to be saved, sparing them slow and potentially painful deaths.
Now, with inflation rising and donations dropping, the future of our emergency clinic is hanging in the balance…😥
Sidewalk Specials needs to raise approx R250,000 ($15,382/ €13,291/ £11,372) in order to run the last twenty emergency clinics of 2026, if you can help us please use any donation option below 🐶💕
Sidewalk Specials is PBO approved and can issue Section 18A tax certificates for all donations received! ✅
